![]() ![]() ![]() I always said the only way I would go back to iPhone would be if they had true widgets, custom icons, choosing default apps, and an app drawer. I promised myself I wouldn’t go back to it and went through all 4 gens of Pixels. I used iPhones for years before the Pixel line came out. Anyway, my wife is an iPhone girl and tried to switch to the Pixel line with me. I used the PixelXL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2XL, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a XL, and Pixel 4 XL. I was hoping for P5 XL but no luck, so I think I will be jumping ship. And again - you can't turn sideways as keyboard takes the whole screen and you can't see the text. But the biggest problem for me is Gboard - I can't type anything fast without hitting the keys next to the keys I want to hit. I remember when we were shopping houses my wife would always hand me her bigger phone so I could see the photos on Redfin properly. Turning the phone sideways doesn't help much as most photos ratio is not wide. Because of the aspect ratio (tall and narrow screen) all the photos I'm looking at (in Photos app, in web pages, on Reddit) are so small it's hard to make out details. Videos are ok, you can always turn the phone sideways but the photos are really small. But looking back it was a mistake at least for me. I was also looking at comparisons online and convincing myself that the difference is not significant. I went from Pixel 2 XL to Pixel 3 thinking how good it will be to have a smaller phone for the reasons stated by everyone else in this sub.
